Car Tune Up Information
Although most "modern" cars can be driven for up to 100,000 miles without a tune up, your driving and maintenance habits may decrease this interval.
Older cars may need a tune up more often. You should always refer to your owner's manual for more specific maintenance intervals.
Symptoms that your car may need a tune up include:
Hesitation upon Acceleration
Decreased Power
Uneven Acceleration / Bucking
Foul-Smelling Exhaust
Decreased Fuel Economy (decreased miles per gallon)
A tune up may include inspection and/or replacement of the following components:
Spark Plugs
Distributor Rotor
Distributor Cap
Oxygen Sensor
Fuel Filter
PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) Valve
