Car Tune Up Information

Although most "modern" cars can be driven for up to 100,000 miles without a tune up, your driving and maintenance habits may decrease this interval. Older cars may need a tune up more often. You should always refer to your owner's manual for more specific maintenance intervals.

Symptoms that your car may need a tune up include:

  • Hesitation upon Acceleration
  • Decreased Power
  • Uneven Acceleration / Bucking
  • Foul-Smelling Exhaust
  • Decreased Fuel Economy (decreased miles per gallon)

  • A tune up may include inspection and/or replacement of the following components:

  • Spark Plugs
  • Distributor Rotor
  • Distributor Cap
  • Oxygen Sensor
  • Fuel Filter
  • PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) Valve
